WGU Texas: How do you plan to pay for school?

Dear Septian,

Here is some in-depth information about the tuition rates at WGU Texas and how to pay for your school obligations. We think you'll be pleased to discover that, compared to other online universities, paying for college at WGU Texas is a relatively pain-free process (both in terms of your pocketbook and your sanity).

FLAT-RATE TUITION
An essential part of our mission is to keep tuition very affordable—affordable enough to accommodate almost any budget. That's one benefit of attending a nonprofit university.

For most programs, WGU Texas charges tuition at a flat rate of about $3,000 for a six-month term. It's simple—You pay for time, not credit hours or courses. For the most part, there are no limits to how much of your degree program you can complete in a given term. If you work hard and can finish in less time, you benefit tremendously. Namely, you could save thousands.

FINANCIAL AID IS AVAILABLE
If you're paying for college yourself, great! If you think you might need some help, WGU Texas is approved to offer federal financial aid. Aid can take many forms:
  • Pell Grants and Subsidized Federal Loans—These are based on financial need.
  • Unsubsidized Federal Loans—These are not based on financial need, and therefore are available to most students.
  • Scholarships
  • Corporate Reimbursement
Note: The first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the basic application for federal student loans. (Our school code is 033394.)
